Emarald damselfly (Lestens sponsa)
I stacked 6 photos to increase the depth of field. To reach such a magnification I adapted a Schneider-Kreuznach enlarger lens on a bellow.

So outside the stacking this is all in camera? No color enhancement? Amazingly well done. I have stacked photos of small jewelry for the same reason but that's a stationary object. I have thought about a custom made high speed camera that adjusts the focus with each frame. So you could make this kind of stacked image with a moving target. Then some software that would analyze each frame and blend them. WAY beyond my abilities/funds but it's fun to think about these things.

I wonder what the world must look like to this damselfly. Drops of water on compound eyes must create a beautiful image to those looking out.

I wonder how long it took you to take such a picture... have you been waiting for that motive or was it just a lucky coincidence of the damselfly sitting there in front of your lens?
Great picture, anyways ;) Well deserved DD!
